Church Recorders are NADFAS volunteers who promote the artistic heritage to be found in places of worship by recording the contents of our national churches, including memorials, metalwork, stonework, woodwork, textiles, paintings, library, windows and miscellaneous (including musical instruments).

The items are described in detail and their history researched. All the material is then compiled into a book illustrated with photographs and drawings. This is presented to the church and copies are sent to national institutions. In 2015 we completed the Record for Dogmersfield Church and presented this to the Church in the January 2016. Currently we are working on the Record for Winchfield Parish Church. The attached image is of some objects from Dogmersfield Church. We are always happy to welcome new members and, although some expertise is a bonus, it is certainly not essential.

For more information about our work please contact our group leader, Jeremy Spencer, through or speak to any Committee member at a lecture meeting.
