Hart DFAS is always keen to contribute to the better appreciation and enjoyment of the Arts by young people. The focus of our efforts has been to fund art-based projects, especially those that benefit young people who are experiencing some difficulty in their lives. In recent years Hart DFAS has contributed to the purchase of materials and equipment and funded visiting artists, all of which has facilitated a more lively visual arts education in local schools as well as in community organisations.

During 2016 Hart DFAS has continued to support projects within Hart District.  The pupils of Mayhill Junior School, Odiham, have benefitted from the provision of art materials and source books during their Rio themed art week in July.  The materials and books have now found a home in the school’s newly created studio where classes go for art lessons and which can be accessed by children at lunchtime and at their newly-established after-school art club.  A donation to the Art Department at Calthorpe Park School, Fleet, enabled them to buy large free-standing display boards.

The Society has again entered work completed by students at Farnborough Sixth Form College into the competition run by NADFAS in conjunction with the Royal Socity of British Artists
